Australia	Download Australian Patents or try here	Granted Australian AU-A, AU-B and AU-C Patent Specifications searchable by application or accepted patent number.  From No. 701782 (about 1998) in image (not text) format. Published weekly, average spec. is 40 pages long and they download as whole documents (not as individual pages) so be prepared for a wait.
Brazil	Brazilian Patents or here	BRASPAT - nothing to do with woman's clothing, this is a Brazilian database of patent and design publications from August 1992
Bulgaria	Patent Abstracts of Bulgaria	Not working at the moment. English language translations of Bulgarian applications for inventions and utility models and Bulgarian granted patents as well, published in the Official Gazette which is a monthly issue of the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria, Sofia. From 1997 and very up to date.
China	Search Chinese Patents	Great, if you can read Chinese. Not working at the moment.
Canada	Search Canadian Patents	Courtesy of CIPO. Over 75 years of patent descriptions and images. You can search, retrieve and study more than 1,400,000 patent documents.  You can download patents in chunks instead of by page.  Good for getting an early English language equivalent of a German EP patent, e.g. Ciba (or whatever they are called this week) often files in Canada.
France	Download French Patents	full text (in French) of patent applications published those last two years. Again in .PDF format so you need Adobe. Esp@cenet is better.
Hungary	Hungarian Patent and Trademark Information	Free searchable database, in English, from March 1996.
Hungary 2	Hungarian Search Reports	Hungarian Patent Office from 1996 are now available in PDF format  The search reports are identified by their application number and listed in numerical order. Search by any other aspects, such as key words, applicant etc. can be performed in Hunpatéka Online Hungarian patent and utility model database.  Example
Japan 1	Search Japanese Patent Abstracts	JPO Industrial Property Digital Library- new in 1999- Covers Publication Numbers from 05000001 to 10341600. A quick test suggested a lot is missing, but a more thorough evaluation is needed because the Japanese usually do things very well. Thanks to Sarah Smith at Akerman, Senterfitt & Eidson, P.A.for hunting down the new URL for this.
New Zealand	New Zealand	This new site has two levels of access:  Casual users can search for IP using all available criteria, view all public IP information free of charge, request detailed reports about retrieved IPs via email or fax (fee required), view an information library of IPONZ related documents online and request delivery of information library documents via email.  Registered users can additionally set up default user preferences, use search logs and pay by direct debit.
Russia 1	Russian Patent Abstracts	You have to register to use this one now. English summaries of Russian Patents from 1994. updated quarterly. The database contains over 170,000 documents
Russia 2	Russian Searches	Free access requires username  and, password =maxusers.  Only for abstracts DB. RetrievalWare allows you to search over multiple document libraries using plain English queries. Any query you execute can be saved for future use, or can be used as an profile. Italy	Search Italian patent, utility and design model applications	Courtesy of the Italian Patent Office. Currently covers Italian patent applications filed between May and October 1998. Esp@cenet is better.
Slovenia	Search Slovenian patents	Only Slovene text is available at present.
Thailand	Search Thailand Patents	Painfully slow but works.  Start by getting the bibliographic data and abstract of the application. Then click on the grey button. By ticking the appropriate check box, you can download patent images to your hard disc as .tif files (not .pdf) by sections or even the whole patent. If you are unlucky you will get an invalid Huffman code (there is a lot of it about this time of year).
Singapore	Search ePatents	Free subscription database, but as yet without copies.
New Zealand	Search Patents	Also covers trade marks and designs
Korea	Search Patents	KIPRIC offer, free of charge, KPA search service through the internet.  You have to register for free first, its in English. Search fields : IPC, Keyword, Applicant, Inventor, Application (Publication, Priority) Date, Application(Publication, Priority) Number - Data coverage : Registered Korean patents of 1979 to  Feb. 1998.
Spain	Search Utility Models	pdf complete Spanish Utility Models published from 1997 onwards (from publication number U1034318) could be retrieved from the web page of the Spanish Patent and TradeMark Office http://www.oepm.es checking the database OEPMPAT included at CIBEPATNET. Complete backwards Utilty Model publications until 1987 should be available shortly, however most of them are already available since the introduction of documents published backwards is growing steadily. Patent Databases By Technology

Agricultural Biotech patents and new technologies	US patent database on agricultural biotechnology.
European Coatings Database	Now goes back to 1926!   All related to coatings technology. A tiny database but possibly useful if you interested in coatings.
Fullerenes Patent Database	Subject of the 1996 Nobel prize for Chemistry - a comprehensive Internet archive of patents related to buckyballs, nanotubes, and other fullerenes. This database is brought to you by the laboratory of Prof. M. S. Dresselhaus, at MIT.
DNA Patent Database	The DPD, a joint project of the Georgetown University's Kennedy Institute of Ethics and the Foundation for Genetic Medicine, allows free public access to the full text and analysis of all DNA patents issued by the USPTO.    This database enables users to conduct Boolean searches of the full text of the patents and of delimited fields. The DPD is being created, with a particular focus on issued claims, to enable relevant empirical studies of actual DNA-based patents.
Saxophone Patents	Useless but irresistible.
Electronic Orange Book	Database of approved US medicines. Searchable by applicant, trade mark of the medicine or generic name. This can be useful to find out what US patents cover medicines and when they expire.
Extended US patents data	Listings of US SPC pharmaceutical patent data from the USPTO, with links to related sites.
